Introduction

Welcome to the detailed drama, allegations and commentary page about the streamer “Yoshimyan”. The Japanese streamer who earns over $40k a month despite her reputation in the Japan online community for using other streamers, stealing their oilers and content while encouraging her community to harass and create drama about them.

Image
This streamer has sniped(showing up on streams unannounced) and effectively leeched bigger streamers she could find, and allegedly slandered and ghosted those same streamers once she got what she wanted from them. An ongoing pattern used for years to increase viewership and income as fast as possible, while displaying a young innocent image to likely target old lonely oilers from other channels. She has attracted streamers oilers by messaging and attempting to lure them to her channel. These allegations have leaked due to disagreements with certain oilers (who were not "loyal" to only her channel), causing them to leave and warn the other streamers as to what was happening.

The Oiler Thief

Oilers on Twitch are hard to find, and every streamer will try to hold onto them when they can. Yoshimyan however has gone beyond the typical approach and went down the road of 'hunting' them down. Her first "theft", and most well known case of this we will dive into is involving the streamer Shibuya_Kaho. One of the more famous streamers and personalities in Japan, Kaho was open to having a collaboration stream with Yoshimyan early on. Things seemingly went well, until Kaho noticed that one of her biggest oilers at the time, "Knowing_of_then", was suddenly enamoured and became the most dedicated Yoshimyan fan after this event. He has now gone on to give Yoshi about 7000-10000 subs with 1 million bits every month. Additionally, the oiler called "NotoriousBHC" (who we will dive into deeper below) was another convert from this one collaboration, and has gone on to become another one of Yoshi's most dedicted supporters.

An extremely fruitful event for Yoshimyan, but sadly due to this one collab experience Kaho who has stopped collabing with random female streamers and only engages with streamers she trusts. However, this wasn't enough for young Yoshi.

She continued to try find other Japan streamers, hanging out in their chats and interacting but with the secret goal of private messaging and trying to win the love of oilers once they have visited her channel. Some of the victims to this strategy include "Nicoco", "Michaaam", "CrazyJapanese"(Tanuki), "Canniny", "Mino56" and "Ruunachu" to name a few. She ironically though tries to get her community to accuse other streamers of doing the same thing that she does.

To increase the spending of these oilers, she uses tactics of pitting her oilers against one another, creating sparks of jealousy to make them compete for her love and attention. This has created a 'donation war', which she has kept ongoing succesfully.
image

Once she spotted an oiler and had them in her discord, she would painfully try to keep getting their attention and creating conversation with them to keep them as interested and engaged as possible.

image
Getting these oilers support was not enough for her either, as she would attempt to alienate them from the original streamers by trying to discredit and talk negatively about the original streamers, calling them "fake", "bitches" or "weird" amongst other insults, despite engaging in manipulative fake activites herself as she would start ghosting the Japan streamers once she had the oilers she wanted.
Unfortunately for her, one of those oilers was dumb enough to write the negative comments publicly on other Twitch chats, leading to the other streamers finding out and unsurprisingly distancing themselves.

The innocent school girl and her "new" boobs

This is more obvious to people who watched her prior to that first Kaho collab. Yoshimyan has been stuffing her bra and wearing tight sweaters (while bouncing her chest around but trying to maintain a 'pure and innocent' image at the same time) to try compete with the likes of Kaho. We saw a dramatic growth in her chest ever since they collabed about 2 years ago. This has been noticed by many viewers, but rarely spoken about for obvious reasons.

image image

Despite this new sexualised image, she continues to target her audience of significantly older "daddies" with her younger pedo-baiting dressing style and on-stream personality. The needy and clueless approach works wonders for the lonely older parasocials, and this happens to be the wealthiest group of viewers on Twitch too.

The Content Thief

Our little Yoshi clearly finds streaming to be a difficult job. She has no idea how to make her own content, and resorts to effectively stealing whatever idea seems to work from other Japan streamers. From copied stream titles, overlays, logo styles and BRB screens, to 'sexy dancing' setups and donation roulettes, to 'cafe purchase' experiences from Mino56, and recently an entirely copy-pasted Chinese New Year event from "Canniny", while doubling the prices on these content ideas without improving on them at all. Outside of the on-stream content, she also straight up buys the same outfits and uses the same makeup and hair styles of streamers like "Ruunachu" and "Canniny". Wouldn't be surprised she is using the same fake boob pads/suit that Ruunachu openly uses too.

The Toxic Community

Most streamers try their best to stop their chats from insulting other streamers or creating drama, however Yoshi has done the opposite. She allows her top oilers and mods to spread rumors and create negative images of streamers for her, helping her to push any potential new supporters away from these other streamers.

image
Yoshi realised how chat spamming her emotes can bring in new viewers so she publicly encourages her viewers to harass streamer chats and then proudly celebrates it. With quotes on stream like “when I streamed with all the other bigger streamer, their whole chat was my emotes”, It's no surprise that a number of streamers such as "Mino56" banned her emotes and her name from the chat.

When a 10k average viewer Japanese gaming streamer got harasssed by Yoshimyan's community with emote spam, he got frustrated and banned her emotes. In less than 1 minute of her emotes getting banned, Yoshimyan popped into the stream to introduce herself. Hanjou's viewers were quick to call her out for self-promoting by how fast she arrived after getting his attention with the emote spam.

Twitchcon Las Vegas

Twitchcon Vegas 2023 was Yoshi's first big international event. She went with one goal in mind, to snipe all the biggest streamers. She was not shy about this fact, and made it obvious when chat asked her to snipe some smaller streamers. "I don't like to snipe smaller streamers, they would think it's weird. I only snipe big streamers, I'm going to try snipe Fanfan". She also did not try to hide her self-created issues with the Japan streamers, saying "Why do you think I'm part of the Tokyo streamer community, I'm not". She avoided the Japanese streamers at the event, but unfortunately for her, and hilariously for viewers, her attempts at sniping the bigger streamers left her getting ignored, rejected or awkwardly shooed away as most are well aware of these types of leeching clout-chasing smaller creators. This left Yoshi to have to tuck her tail between her legs and shamelessly try to interact with the other Japan streamers at the event, so that she would not look completely isolated, despite desperately wanting to avoid them. She knew that CrazyJapanese already had established connections with OTK and other big streamers, and Yoshi saw this as her only ticket in. So with the help of her oilers, she gave CrazyJapanese and Ruunachu 100 subs each and they reluctantly accepted Yoshi into their group for the event.

While they did help her get introduced to a few bigger streamers, she didn't go far with it as she was looked at as just a forgettable small streamer in that group. We did get left with a couple funny moments though.

It didn't help that Yoshimyan was handing out business cards (and a KitKat) awkwardly to every streamer she could find before walking away... but a great example of the shamelessness is after meeting with the Korean streamer "Tyongeee". Yoshi flashed her "business card" to the stream while "Tyongeee" went to the bathroom and told the chat that she wanted to do the same content as "Tyongeee" so they should come watch her streams too. "Tyongeee" had to run back from the bathroom when she noticed, and tried get rid of Yoshimyan in a non-awkward way and play it off to the chat.

Love Story

image

While at Twitchcon Vegas, we saw a surprise (or not-so-surprising) appearance by non-other than one of her top oilers, "NotoriousBHC". While rumors floated regarding flirtatious love-baiting with oilers, none have gotten as public as "Notorious", who we see above in the initial banner.

image
He flew to Las Vegas from New York to pick her up from airport, taking "care of her" and being her cameraman there. He spent a lot of time on camera, gloating and being prideful about his position with her. With hints and innuendoes left and right, we slowly saw some comments and jealousy arise from her other oilers. This of course plays well into the 'donation war' strategy, but hilariously doesn't work well for her viewer count as she realised. Once Notorious being on screen lowered her viewer count by 70%, she kept trying to get rid of him and focused on sniping other bigger streamers.

She made it up to him later as she would fly to NY with him after Twitchcon and did streams from NY. Notorious has talked in multiple streamer channels after, as well as sharing moments on his twitter, saying how much of a great time he had with Yoshimyan everyday both off and on stream.

Image Image Image
We can only speculate what exactly happened during Notorious's greatest life experience, but the rumors of their beautiful time together are plenty. The moral of the story it seems is that sometimes the parasocial viewer really does get the girl(after enough donations and persistence).

Revenue

Now we all know streamers can earn a good amount of money. Yoshi however has broken the norms, thanks to her targeting of much older and wealthier "daddy" viewers, and earns more than most 1k+ viewer streamers today despite being less than half their size. She now makes around $40,000 a month just from Twitch, while having the most insane Patreon tiers yet somehow still finds herself some "husbandos".

image
image
She also shamelessly shows off how much money she gets with all her "moments" and top clips are insane hype trains and donos.

image
image

For insight; a hype train on Twitch after level 20 needs 70subs or 35500bits per level ($350-$500), and after level 30 needs 165subs or 82200 bits per level ($830-$1150). Yoshimyan has level 20+ hype trains every week, without taking into account multiple smaller trains.

A glimpse at what her leaderboard looks like every week:

The Sympathy Farmer

Now all this wouldn't be so obnoxious if this was a humble streamer who worked hard everyday, creating original content and providing consistent viewer entertainment. Sadly this isn't the case though, as her typical content is either stolen home streams or going outside doing IRL and crying about her viewer count or how hard her job and life is.

This is a girl who uses a tripod with a viewfinder feed and is filming her face while crying in public, making sure to show her audience all the tears instead of perhaps sitting the tripod down, wiping her tears normally and filming actual IRL content.

You can clearly see how she makes sure to look at the chat and see that they can see her tears and are reacting to her crying, before trying to push out more tears and get as much attention as possible. The more tears, the more donations.

For a streamer who streams an average of 3-4 hours, she sure likes to make it out to be difficult for her. A sympathy farming stream where she cries about not having had enough food, not sleeping well or for just no reason at all.. has become part of her monthly content to get as much money as possible.

image

She is so used to her $2k a day subathons that when she didn't get that for a recent thon, she had a big crying stream in a public street where she once again held her phone to her face and zoomed into her tears. She complained about only getting nearly 300 viewer again, but not sure if it was that or the lack of donations that day that really brought out the waterworks. This of course got everybody pity donating to her again. She deletes the cry streams after she ends to get rid of evidence.

image

An bonus clip of her just complaining and being emotional about her viewer count which made it to Reddit's LSF subreddit:

The LSF Brigading

While absolutely not surprising, a completely naive attempt at boosting her viewership and popularity was made through the use of the well-known Reddit forum called "LivestreamFail". Getting popular on 'LSF' (as it's known) allows streamers to be seen by millions of readers.

Posts get pushed up or down via a user-voting system, and using the sub-reddit for self-promotion was stricty forbidden. Tactics of abusing the voting system, such as "brigading", are bannable offenses. Brigading is where a post is made, and either the streamer or mod self-promotes their post by asking for upvotes from their community. Streamers have been banned in the past for attempting to game the LSF system for clicks, and Yoshi thought it was a great idea to attempt this herself. She posted it publicly on her discord, and got away with it initially until LSF mods caught wind of it and deleted the posts

image

Her mod was not happy about this, but she was content with the views the clip got while it was up there.

Taiwan Leeching

Yoshimyan was told about how streamers can and have used the supportive community of Taiwan to get an almost instant viewer and donation boost to their stream. She has immediately decided it is now her turn to take advantage of it.
